EDBA, founded in 1975, The Eastern Dive Boat Association takes special pleasure in introducing you to the greatest diving area in the United States—The North Atlantic and Atlantic coastal states,  New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Virginia, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Florida. This unique area has over 4,000 shipwrecks, some lost since colonial days. Each sunken ship is an abundant oasis of life. For the spear-fisherman; cod, fluke, sea bass, blackish and grouper.   For the diver who craves a gourmet's delight; the northern and southern lobster hides in his underwater home for the adventurous man or woman with fast reflexes! These waters also challenge the underwater photographer. What could be more photogenic than a sunken ship encrusted with marine life and treasures.

Come dive and explore an underwater heritage that spans from before colonial days, through two world wars, and up to the recent past. Many wrecks are still unidentified. Perhaps you may be the one to uncover their identity.

We wish to emphasize that when you participate in any diving activity from an Eastern Dive Boat Association vessel, you are under your own care, custody and control. Your safety is our concern but your safety while diving is your responsibility.
Plan your dive. dive your plan. Be Responsible

Plan your dive. dive your plan. Be Responsible

MISSION STATEMENT: The Eastern Dive Boat Association is an organization of dive boat owners, operators, and members dedicated to providing cooperation among all dive boats, while promoting education, recreation, safety self-reliance,  and responsibility in SCUBA diving. Paramount to the accomplishment of its mission is the concurrent obligation to promote the conservation of the oceans, and assist in uncovering and preserving Earth's history found in the world beneath its waters.

It is the belief of the Eastern Dive Boat Association that membership in the association carries with it a responsibility to it's existing members, as well as a responsibility to those who travel on the vessels of the association members. For this reason, we have established the following criteria for membership in the Eastern Dive Boat Association:

1. Applicants for admission to the association shall be asked to affirm their belief in and compliance with the Mission Statement of the association, as shown above.

2. Applicants are requested to, and agree to, participate in, and contribute the operation of the association, on behalf of it's members, to the best of their ability.

3. All applicants for admission are aware of the professional standards of seamanship, boat handling, scuba diving, and conduct that it's members seek to achieve, and they will bring to the association such of these skills that will be acceptable to the association. They will endeavor to increase their skills as to bring further credit to themselves, and to our association.

4. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant, as a member, to maintain all licenses, and comply with all regulations by any lawful authority having jurisdiction over our member vessels, their owners, captain, and crew. Not withstanding the above, all new vessel members and/or operators shall submit evidence that they have satisfactorily passed a drug test, as is normally required by all commercial vessel members.

5. Applicants for admission shall familiarize themselves with the constitution and by-laws of the association, and comply with it's terms.
I hereby agree to the above as conditions of membership, if I am accepted as a member in the Eastern Dive Boat Association.
